"Leica and Huawei share an uncompromising commitment to imaging excellence, and our partnership will put outstanding photography into the hands of more consumers around the world. We are deepening our collaboration to give users a more optimal smartphone photography experience." says Leica CEO Oliver Kaltner
At its event in London on April 6th, Huawei launched its long-anticipated P9 smartphone, alongside the P9 Plus. Both smartphones feature a dual-rear camera setup made in collaboration with legendary camera maker Leica. The two new smartphones succeed the P8 from last year as Huawei’s new flagship phones. Find out everything else you need to know about the Huawei P9 price, design and specs.
Huawei has a history of releasing smartphones that feature a premium design at a much cheaper price point than its rivals, and the Huawei P9 (Plus) is no exception. Although the design of P9 and P9 plus is the sequel to the Huawei P8, these phones offers a number of changes including a brand new fingerprint scanner on the rear of the device and with more advanced technology inside. There’s also a dual-camera setup on the rear, but we’ll come to that in a bit more detail below.
Huawei also emphasized that the P9 "excels" in low-light conditions thanks to its dual-camera design, which allows more light and detail to be captured compared to other smartphones.
Sadly, the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus, while not coming to the US (at least not yet), seem to be positioned as direct competitors to other flagship-level phones like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5. These two new flagship smartphones will be available in a number of European, Asian, and Middle Eastern countries on April 16.
The P9 will be available in Mystic Silver and Titanium Grey for £449 (3GB + 32GB) or free with a contract. It’ll arrive in the U.K. in early May at Carphone Warehouse, EE, O2, Three, and Vodafone. However, the P9 will also be available without a SIM at vMall in mid April.

1. Enjoy Purchased or Rented iTunes Movies on Huawei P9 (Plus)
It is known that iTunes purchased & rented movies are encrypted by Apple's FairPlay DRM, which makes them unplayable on non-Apple devices (including Huawei P9 phones). In order to enjoy our movies on Non-apple device, we need to remove DRM and then convert them to plain formats like MP4, MOV, etc. The most efficient way is to turn to the third party, such as M4VGear DRM Media Converter, which can fast strip DRM protection thus to make these movies playable on Huawei P9 (Plus) or on other non-Apple TV, and keep multilingual subtitles and all audio tracks.
